How to Submit a Workshop/Tutorial Proposal

Format

The workshop/tutorial format is a single stream of oral presentation of papers followed by questions or discussion. Panel sessions may also be included. Poster sessions may also be held concurrently with the workshop/tutorial. The duration of a workshop/tutorial will be either half (09:00-13:00 or 14:00-18:00) or full day (09:00-18:00) and includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, as appropriate, where further exchange and discussion can continue informally.

Submission

Workshop/tutorial proposals must be submitted by email in PDF or Microsoft Word to proposals@miccai2007.org by 19 January 2007. Proposals should provide sufficient information to evaluate the relevance and importance of the topic, and the size of the interested community. Prospective workshop/tutorial organisers must follow the guidelines in submitting a workshop/tutorial proposal and are encouraged to contact the organisers should any questions arise at proposals@miccai2007.org.

Budget

MICCAI 2007 will not pay for registration, travel, or other arrangements for workshop/tutorial organisers or any of their invited guests. All participants, including workshop/tutorial organisers, must register for the workshop.

Organisation

The workshop/tutorial organisers must arrange for advertising of the workshop/tutorial, submission and reviewing of papers, notification of acceptance, compilation of the workshop/tutorial program, and print ready layout of the proceedings.

Venue

The venue for the workshop/tutorial will be the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, and onsite services and catering arrangements will be organised by the MICCAI 2007 organisers.

Guidelines

Workshop/tutorial proposers are requested to submit a 1-2 page proposal in PDF or Microsoft Word format and include:

• Title and brief (150 words) outline of workshop/tutorial topic scope
• Name/s and contact details (email, telephone number, postal address, webpage) of workshop organisers
• Workshop academic objectives and justification of relevance to MICCAI
• Workshop/tutorial format plans
• Anticipated number of participants with reasons (or numbers from previous workshops/tutorial)
• Names of invited speakers or anticipated major contributors
• Space requirements and special equipment or technical support needed

Workshop/tutorial organisers are strongly encouraged to negotiate a special edition journal for the best papers in the workshop.
